Emem K. Madu

Emem is a lawyer who is passionately committed to the best interest of her clients. Over the course of her career, she has gained a reputation as a solid and dependable lawyer. She currently focuses on Family Law, Immigration Law, Child Welfare and Wills and Estate, and has proven herself to be knowledgeable, compassionate and result oriented. Ensuring the best possible outcome within reasonable timelines, excellence in written and oral advocacy, all while working within budget, have become the hallmark of her practice.

She graduated as her University class silver medalist in 2002 and with First Class Honors degree from the Nigerian Law School in 2003. She has received several national and international awards and scholarships, including the Alberta Law Foundation scholarship and the Delta Kappa International Student Awards.

During her career, Emem has acquired a wide range of legal experience. She was a Junior Research Fellow at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, Nigeria. She also worked as an associate counsel in the law firm of Aluko and Oyebode, a commercial law firm based in Lagos. Upon completion of her Master of Laws (LLM) Program at the University of Alberta, Emem has worked as a Research Lawyer for Brownlee LLP, Alberta Justice, and in the Regulatory Compliance department of ATB Financial.

A pleasant disposition coupled with an ability to achieve results makes her a favorite among her clients. Emem is a people person, and in her chosen areas of practice she is committed to making a difference in the lives of her clients through her legal services.

In her spare time, Emem enjoys listening to music, reading novels, and spending time with her family and friends.
